It is Time His Body Faces the Truth

Friday, February 26, 2016, by Glynn Adams

Have you read II Corinthians 2:14-16? “Now thanks be to God who always leads us to triumph in Christ and through us manifests the fragrance of knowledge in every place. For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.  To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life….”

Paul obviously must have witnessed the highest honor the Roman Emperor could bestow on a victorious Roman General – the Triumphal. The word “triumph,” being a military word, Paul, envisioned Christ as a universal conqueror leading His Body to triumph in whatever they did. Following not far behind the General was a priest swinging a censer burning sweet-smelling incense. Paul, smelling this fragrance, thought of the sweet scent of Christ to men—to some the fragrance of death and to others the fragrance of life.

Now let’s stop and ask a few questions:

  • Is the Body of Christ facing the realities before us?
  • If God always leads us to triumph in Christ, why are the Ten Commandments and the Word of God no longer welcomed in this nation?
  • Why are we losing the war on abortion, evolution, and relativism in our nation and schools?
  • The homosexual lifestyle is not normal to God. Why is it considered a normal lifestyle now in America?
  • Why have we allowed marriage to be redefined?
  • Why are Christians being threatened with hate speech for speaking the Word of God?
  • Why are we losing our religious freedoms?
  • Why are our spiritual foundations systemically being destroyed?
  • Why are military chaplains no longer allowed to mention the name of Jesus?
  • Why is a large part of this nation rejecting Christmas?
  • Why is this nation moving toward lawlessness, anarchy, immorality, tyranny, and ungodly socialism?
  • Why is hell and moving on America?
  • Why do we have ungodly leadership?
  • Why are we cursed with 19 trillion dollars of debt?
  • Why hasn’t His Body in this nation established the rule of God in politics and economics?
  • Why do we have so many unredeemed areas in this nation?
  • Why is Christ not welcomed in the public square?
  • Why has His Body committed two evils, forsaking the Lord God and hewn broken cisterns that can hold no water (Jer. 2:13)?
  • Why are so many young people leaving?
  • Christianity? Why are so many good Christians listed as “unaffiliated?”
  • Is this nation being saved or is it perishing?
  • Is the fragrance coming from the American Church leading this nation to life or death? I mean, aren’t we talking about important things of God here – victory or defeat, heaven or hell, life or death, blessing or curse, freedom or bondage, lost or saved?
  • Is Christianity supposed to be in a war against evil?
  • Why did God tell us to put on “armor” and “to be a good soldier?” Are our enemies more powerful than God?
  • Is God still looking for men, women, boys and girls to be salt, light and a watchman to this nation?

I’m 78 years old and I’m through mincing words to a Body that won’t obey the Head so we can triumph in His Name!

“Choose you this day whom you will serve!” Vote on this in your church building this Sunday morning.

Is this body of Christ  going to get involved in the spiritual war between good and evil that is raging against Christians and the citizens of this nation or not?    Yes or no?

The fragrance of Christ in the Body of Christ in America is not right.   If we will face our reality, humble ourselves before Him and repent, God will empower us and surely lead us to triumph in His blessed and holy Name.  And then, on that glorious day when He comes for His Body, we will be prepared and our Lord will see us as holy and blameless and beyond reproach!  Now to the Lamb of God who deserves the reward of His suffering and all the Glory!

God bless, I remain His servant and watchman, glynnadams@sbcglobal.net
