When we establish a covenant with Jesus by receiving Him and coming into agreement with Him as our Lord and Savior, our purpose then is to do the will of God on earth as it is done in heaven and get prepared and ready for His return. Jesus is coming back for a church that is awake, in the light, alert, watchful, ready, sober, holy, blameless, and beyond reproach. Are you there yet?
The Apostle Paul said in 2 Corinthians 11:2-3, “For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy for I betrothed you to one husband, that to Christ I might present you as a pure virgin. But I am afraid lest as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds should be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.”
Jesus also issued a warning in the Parable of the Ten Virgins in Matthew 25:1-13. The bride is waiting for the groom. She must be prepared and ready at all times for the trumpet shall sound when the bridegroom comes for His bride. Jesus said five of the virgins were ready but five were not. He warned, “Be on the alert then, for you do not know the day nor the hour.” Are you, as a Christian in America, prepared and ready for the return of the Lord Jesus Christ?
Today, there are many in the Body of Christ in America whose minds are led astray from the Lord Jesus, yet they do not realize it. We get caught up in the cares and the things of this world, the deception of riches, and the frustrations of life that choke out the life of God in our lives. We have become so busy being busy in this American culture we have little time for the things of God. We are wandering like children in the wilderness, walking in the flesh which God says is spiritual death, and the Spirit of God, which is His life, can hardly be felt in our heart. Some have lost the spiritual battle between their flesh and Spirit, and life does not feel abundant at the moment.
So we drift, having reduced Christianity in our lives down to going to a building on Sunday morning. We have not yet learned that life does not come from attending church. Life is in a person. We get that life by having a daily relationship with Jesus Christ. Not many pastors teach this. Neither do they encourage their flocks to be prepared for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, especially from the Books of Revelation and Daniel. These deceived and cowardly pastors claim it “scares” the people. But real panic and fear will come when we are not prepared when the trumpet sounds.
Unfortunately, there are too many pastors today who preach sermonettes and tell Bible stories, but almost never give relevant messages.
Here is a relevant message – “QUIT depending on these professional religious people to have a relationship with Jesus and to discover truth. ONLY YOU CAN DO THAT!”
Most church leaders care only about numbers and their glory. In your humility and weakness and pain, open your Bible to Luke, Chapter 4, and read the entire chapter. Best to get by yourself and read the Word as if Jesus is speaking directly to you, and He will be if you will receive his word. Talk to Him, take every Word to heart, ask the Holy Spirit to guide you to all truth. Then read the Gospel of John. Next I John, II John, then III John, Then the Book of Acts, Then I Peter, II Peter, and then the Book of Genesis. Take your time. This drill is not so much for learning and understanding, but rather for hearing God speak to you though His Word and in your Spirit.
Interact with Jesus. Keep trying, it will feel strange at first, and Satan will try to distract you—the phone will ring, the kids will act up, the dog will bark, your spouse will distract you, all hell may break loose because you are committed to read the Word and take it to heart. You don’t have that problem when you read a newspaper. Satan and all of hell knows that if you continue to read the Word and take it to heart, your life will be changed. And then Satan loses control of another person.
God bless, I remain His servant and watchman, email@example.com
