The Most Profound Prophecy in All of Scripture

Friday, April 22, 2016, by Glynn Adams

“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10:19)

Christians are able to obey the Word in Luke 10:19, because of the most profound prophecy in all of Scripture – Genesis 3:15. Speaking to the serpent after Adam’s fall, God says “I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed, He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.” God would redeem man with a Messiah – the Seed of the woman – who would be beaten and bruised and crucified on a tree. But Jesus arose from the tomb and by His resurrection, bruised the head of the serpent. Those who are Messiah’s are called also to bruise the serpent’s head, a sacred duty which, sadly, the American Culture Church in America has ignored.

Satan is alive and well on this earth and his game plan is simple—to rob, kill, and destroy the plans of God and His people until his time on this earth is up. Most Christians have failed to realize that we are in a cosmic spiritual war against Satan and his hordes. We were to “Submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from us” (James 4:7), but Christians in this nation have not submitted to God. Instead, we have ignored this war against evil. The Body of Christ in America has no fight in them so our nation is being overcome and destroyed by evil.

What we have failed to comprehend in the Body of Christ in America is that Jesus has overcome this world system of Satan and has won the battle for us. He gives His disciples, you and me, that same authority and power to trample upon and to resist the demonic powers of darkness.

But what if Christians are not fulfilling God’s ordained purpose in spiritual warfare, whether individually or as a corporate Body? What happens if we disregard the Scriptures and do not keep our heels on the serpent’s head by resisting evil? Quite simply, the serpent – the adversary – places his heel on our heads.

Our spiritual foundations are being destroyed in spite of all the powerful churches in our nation. How could this be happening? How has the serpent removed prayer, the Word of God, and the Ten Commandments from the public square? How did he redefine marriage and promote homosexuality as normal? The spirit of evil is here at work, moving our nation deeper into immorality. Matters as varied as our growing national debt and illegal immigration, all spring from a failure of morality.  The drive to turn our government hostile to Christians, to move us to Socialism, to disrupt and destroy families, to make our strong nation look weak, to pollute our culture, to destroy our rights and Constitution, to move us to apathy, to dumb down our schools, to move our nation into darkness, fear, violence, and confusion and to call evil good and good evil, all these things advance apace and go unchallenged? How is this happening in a nation of Christians?

Could it be we do not fully understand what the Messiah did for us?

Do we not realize that Satan is powerful like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour? Do we not understand the ways of our Lord and our enemy? Do Christians not realize they walk through a war zone every day, yet the victory is to be ours? The Body of Christ has lost their salt, it is tasteless and good for nothing.  We have lost our influence and our light is ineffective in darkness.

We have no concept that the evil that is before us is supernatural and cannot be explained by human reasoning. We have failed to realize it is our task to resist and fight against Satan’s schemes and strongholds that come upon us. We have failed to realize that Christianity cannot coexist with evil, and that evil is progressive and never stops advancing.

Because we refuse to rise to the intensity of this spiritual warfare, the Body of Christ in this nation is no longer fulfilling the ordained purpose God has for us – to adorn the Lord Jesus Christ and to resist and fight evil. If we continue in our ignorance and disobedience, Satan will destroy the foolish among us, a sad thing indeed, when all the while victory is assured if only we submit to God and resist our enemies.

God bless, I remain His servant and watchman,
